Vehicle tail-light identification tool

This item allowed the identification of a target vehicle at night when viewed from the rear. It involved placing a strip of polarized film on the target's vehicle tail light lens and then viewing it through the rotating disc which also contained polarized film. The change in polarity when the disc was rotated, caused the tail light to appear to flash. This was a useful tool when the target was being followed along a busy expressway at night. Without it, a quick lane change or two by the target made it extremely difficult to pick out, as all tail lights on a busy expressway, particularly at some distance away, appear alike. This tool often made the difference between losing or keeping track of the target.

A vehicle tail-light identification tool was practical in keeping track of a target at night.
