Remember, when you apply for a job at CSIS, avoid discussing your application with other people, including friends and relatives. Given the nature of the organization, discretion is of the utmost importance.

Apply On-line

You may submit your job application on-line. When you submit your résumé, your personal information will be protected under the federal Privacy Act. More details will be provided as you submit your application.

Important Tips for Applying On-line

Completing this application may take an hour or longer. Once you begin filling in the on-line application form, you should continue to the end. Leaving the application idle for a long period of time could cause you to "time out." If you time out before you have completed the application form, you will be required to re-register under a new username and password, and start the process again from the beginning. The preset maximum time that you can leave the application idle is 120 minutes. You can increase this time to up to 9999 minutes by typing the minutes in the "Logout Time" box.

If you cannot complete the application in the time allocated, or if your Internet connection fails while you are completing the application, you will lose the information you entered and you must start the process again from the beginning.

Before you begin your application, make sure that you have the following information ready:

• An up-to-date résumé and covering letter in text format that can be cut and pasted into the on-line application.
• Information about your previous employment, including the names and telephone numbers of previous employers and supervisors, dates, and salaries.
• Information about your education and training (degrees, diplomas, the names of the institutions, and dates attended).
• A list of all foreign countries that you have travelled to or lived in and when, excluding the United States, and the reasons for the travel (e.g, holiday, business, etc.).

Failure to answer all questions could result in rejection of your application.
